Ordering
How is fabric sold?▼
Fabric is sold by the metre in 0.5m increments — so you can order 0.5m, 1m, 1.5m, and so on. The minimum order is 0.5m. Prices listed on each product page are per metre; if you order 0.5m you pay half the listed price.
Will my fabric arrive as one continuous piece?▼
Yes, always — unless we’re at the very end of a roll and genuinely can’t cut it in one length. If that happens we’ll contact you before dispatching and give you the option to cancel or adjust your order.
The colour on screen looks different to what I expected — why?▼
We photograph all our fabrics in natural light and work hard to represent colours accurately, but screens vary in how they display colour. If you’re unsure about a shade before ordering, email us at hello@esorai.co.uk and we’ll do our best to describe it.
Can I get a sample before buying?▼
Yes — we can offer samples on request. Get in touch at hello@esorai.co.uk and we’ll arrange one for you.
Delivery
How much does delivery cost?▼
UK delivery is calculated by the weight of your order. Full details are on our Delivery Costs page.
How long will my order take to arrive?▼
We aim to dispatch within 1–2 working days of your order being placed. All UK orders are sent via Royal Mail Tracked 48, which typically delivers within 2–3 working days of dispatch.
Will I receive tracking information?▼
Yes — you’ll receive a dispatch confirmation email with your Royal Mail tracking number as soon as your order has been sent.
Do you ship internationally?▼
Not yet, but it’s something we’re actively working on setting up. If you’re outside the UK and would like to order, get in touch at hello@esorai.co.uk and we’ll see what we can do.
How will my fabric be packaged?▼
Your fabric is carefully rolled or folded and packaged to arrive in good condition. We keep our packaging minimal and use recyclable materials where possible.
Returns
Can I return or exchange fabric?▼
Because fabric is cut to order, we’re unable to accept returns for change of mind — cut cloth is considered a bespoke product, and this is standard practice across the fabric industry. We’d always encourage you to get in touch before ordering if you have any questions, and we’ll help you make the right choice.
What if my fabric is faulty or I receive the wrong item?▼
We’ll put it right. Contact us at hello@esorai.co.uk within 14 days of receiving your order, with your order number and a photo if relevant. We’ll arrange a return and send a replacement or full refund — whichever you prefer.
Fabric care
Should I pre-wash my fabric before sewing?▼
Yes — always. Natural fibres like linen and cotton can shrink on first wash, so pre-washing before you cut means your finished make will hold its shape. Wash at 30°C (or as indicated on the product page) and hang to dry or tumble on low.
Will my fabric shrink?▼
Some shrinkage on first wash is normal for natural fibres — typically around 3–5% for linen and cotton. Pre-washing before you sew is the simplest way to account for this and avoid surprises in your finished garment.
How should I care for my fabric?▼
Most of our fabrics wash well at 30°C on a gentle cycle. Wash darks separately on the first wash, avoid high-heat tumble drying, and iron while slightly damp for best results. Specific care advice for each fabric is on its product page.
Products
What are esorai’s exclusive prints?▼
Our exclusive prints are patterns we’ve designed in-house — you won’t find them anywhere else. Each is printed onto quality natural base cloths and produced in limited quantities. They’re a signature part of what esorai is about.
How wide are the fabrics?▼
Width varies by fabric and is listed on each product page. Most of our woven fabrics are between 140cm and 150cm wide. If you need the exact width before ordering, it’s in the product details — or just ask us.
Payments & your account
What payment methods do you accept?▼
We accept all major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. All payments are processed securely through Shopify Payments — we never store your card details.
Do I need an account to place an order?▼
No — you can check out as a guest. Creating an account is entirely optional, but it does make it easier to track your orders and reorder fabrics you love.
Other questions
A fabric I love is out of stock — what should I do?▼
Get in touch at hello@esorai.co.uk. We’re happy to place reorders for specific prints with a minimum of 5 metres, so if there’s something you love and want more of, let us know and we’ll make it happen.
Do you offer wholesale?▼
Absolutely — we’d love to work with you. Email us at hello@esorai.co.uk for our wholesale price list, minimum quantities, and current availability, and we’ll get back to you promptly.
